Practice Supervisor

About the Role

This position is responsible for providing supervisory function under the guidance of the Practice Administrator. You will plan, organize, supervise, and direct office personnel and activities, working with staff and physicians to ensure practice goals are established and attained. The role involves seeking processes to improve efficiency in practice operations, optimizing clinic care, community relations, and managed care business opportunities, and making decisions about daily and strategic operations.

Responsibilities

• Planning, organizing, supervising, training, and directing office personnel and activities
• Working with staff and physicians to ensure practice goals are established and attained
• Seeking processes to improve efficiency in practice operations
• Identifying strategies to optimize clinic care, community relations, and managed care business opportunities
• Coordinating with practice administration and management personnel on matters relating to hospital privileges, clinical programs, and community outreach
• Establishing and assuring billing processes, medical coding, and charge recovery
• Providing reports of management and supervisory activities, projects, and special corporate projects
• Making decisions about daily and strategic operations
• Resolving patient issues as needed

Qualifications

• College degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required
• 5 years of experience in a Physician Practice
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience
• Healthcare background is strongly desirable
• EMR/EHR experience preferred, NextGen or Athena experience preferred
• Proficiency in a Windows environment with a working knowledge of Word, Outlook, and the Internet is required
• Willingness to be flexible and adaptable in a complex, matrix environment
