Practice Specialist (Nurse Educator) - Med Surg and Tele

Qualifications

• BLS Provider obtained within 30 days of hire date or job transfer date.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited school/college of nursing required.
• 2 years of applicable experience required. 5 years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop caregivers in specific clinical areas in collaboration with clinical leaders.
• Drive nursing quality indicators and evidence-based practice guidelines to improve patient outcomes.
• Partner with clinical leaders to serve as a resource and support caregivers to improve outcomes.
• Aid in identifying opportunities to improve quality and safety outcomes.
• Collaborate with clinical leaders and clinical professional development in identifying gaps and developing plans to improve professional growth, skills, and competencies.
• Support clinical leaders in aggregating and interpreting various quality/patient safety data with a focus on using data to drive improved care outcomes and nursing practice.
• Guide the implementation of Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) projects, including the revision of order sets and practice guidelines at the unit or division level.
• Analyze research outcomes and devise strategies for incorporating them into evidence-based clinical practice guidelines.
• Conduct unit rounds with a focus on coaching and mentoring in partnership with clinical leadership.
