PRACTICE MANAGER - PHYSICIAN OFFICE, PRIMARY CARE
About the Role
Responsible for daily management oversight of all areas within a specific IHMG Clinic location, including direct supervisory responsibilities such as hiring, coaching, mentoring, skills development, recognition, rewards, staff productivity, performance management, and succession planning. Focus on financial decision-making, maintaining a safe working environment, and driving high levels of patient satisfaction and revenue growth. Travel is required.
Responsibilities

- Equitably and consistently apply policies and procedures for all staff.
- Ensure completion of staff competencies, including mandatory education and job-specific programs.
- Provide opportunities for staff input into decision-making processes.
- Encourage commitment to quality work and provide regular feedback, praise, and recognition.
- Hold staff accountable for modeling behavioral standards.
- Identify, evaluate, and select internal and external talent to fit Independence Health’s culture.
- Provide education, training, and development opportunities for staff to reach their highest potential.
- Offer stretch assignments and create actionable development plans.
- Actively support and participate in succession planning initiatives.
- Monitor financial performance and develop improvement plans.
- Use financial concepts for decision-making and manage department budget at or below expectations.
- Identify and implement revenue enhancement opportunities.
- Establish and maintain a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and infection control guidelines.
- Ensure proper use of safety equipment and hold individuals accountable for compliance.
- Maintain office appearance, order, and safety for patients and employees.
- Ensure compliance with office/clinical policies such as timely patient test authorizations, open ticket completion, co-pay collection, and registration denial levels.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree or higher in Health Care Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Five (5) years of clinical, physician practice, or healthcare-related experience.
- Strong leadership ability, organizational skills, independent and critical thinking, sound judgment, and knowledge of legal aspects and liability in nursing practice.
- Ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics to diverse audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a healthcare setting.
- Prior supervisory experience.
Licenses, Certifications & Clearances
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (CPR and AED).
- Act 33 clearance (with renewal).
- Act 34 clearance (with renewal).
- Act 73 FBI Clearance.
Schedule
Incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need, including rotating shifts, standby, on-call, and potential overtime. Travel may be expected locally between system locations.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
Effective March 2020 or during a pandemic: goggles, face shield, and mask are required according to CDC guidelines. When lift requirements exceed 50 lbs, lift assistance (2-person) and/or transfer devices are required.
