About the role

The Practice Manager (PM) has accountability for all aspects of the location’s business operations. As a team leader at a “people-first” organization, the PM guides their team through development programs of coaching, mentoring, and performance management. By creating memorable experiences with each patient, the PM drives top-line sales, increases margin, controls payroll expenses, and boosts profitability to meet the company’s overall business objectives.

The PM works directly with staff and OD partners to ensure professional eye exams and medical services, quality product selection, acceptance of vision insurance plans, and remarkable patient service. The ideal candidate will be passionate about people, patient care, and the “Acuity Way.”

Responsibilities

  • Apply leadership, creative thinking, and analytical skills to improve individual practice performance and solve operational issues.
  • Build an effective team that works collaboratively to achieve results.
  • Address the practice’s unique strengths and challenges with objectives, strategies, and plans.
  • Establish clear objectives for practice staff, communicate expectations with clarity, and set high performance standards.
  • Set the standard for remarkable patient services and experiences using the Acuity Way.
  • Identify and select top talent that matches AEG’s values and recruit for long-term sustainability.
  • Work closely with the District Manager to achieve and exceed financial plans for the practice.
  • Learn quickly, adapt to new problems, and solve creatively.
  • Drive results and develop others by sharing best practices within the AEG platform.
  • Retain an open mind and adapt to change.
  • Marshal resources efficiently to accomplish multiple goals through superior service.
  • Review daily sales, identify gaps, and implement solutions to close them.
  • Reinforce the practice selling strategy and the Acuity Way.
  • Protect the company through loss prevention.
  • Partner with Human Resources to ensure employees adhere to handbook guidelines.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of professional setting background with leadership capacity.
  • Business degree in Hospitality, Business, or related management experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Optician Certification preferred.
