About the role
The Department of Community Hematology Oncology (CHO) at OHSU Knight Cancer Institute, Gresham, is dedicated to providing exceptional care and experiences to patients. The Practice Manager plays a key leadership role in managing the operations of CHO, ensuring a safe environment, quality care delivery, and empathetic care for patients. This position oversees day-to-day operations, human resources, compliance, and staff development.
Responsibilities
- Maintains and develops relationships with Legacy Health and other community referral physicians and practices.
- Manages work flow, performance, and overall practice operations to achieve expert care, superb service, and maximum physician/staff productivity.
- Develops and maintains an open and effective line of communication with managers, physicians, APP providers, clinic staff, and external divisions.
- Supports and improves patient access and patient satisfaction.
- Facilitates discussions with leaders at all levels of the organization around improving and sustaining the ambulatory experience for patients, staff, and providers.
- Monitors critical time to service indicators and makes staffing and system adjustments as needed.
- Ensures patient safety and work practices meet health, fire, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus 3 years supervisory experience in a healthcare or clinical setting.
- Master’s degree along with BS/BA in business or health related field preferred but not required.
- Previous OHSU or Oncology leadership experience.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication, customer-focus, and problem-solving skills.
- Pleasant, outgoing demeanor, with excellent judgment.
- Detailed work and superb organizational skills.
- Ability to work as a team member at a high level in a large organization.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with continuous improvement utilizing lean management systems.
- Experience with reporting and quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- Experience with EPIC or other patient information software.
- Experience with DNV programs and surveys, access initiatives, Cognos, preferred.
Qualifications
- FACHE, CMPE, or other credential demonstrating continued learning in leadership and healthcare operations.
- Proactive assessment of staffing needs.
- Direct supervision of clinical administrative staff including PASR, CMA, CNA, MCC, and AC positions.
- Management of physician and APP time off schedules and coordination of provider schedules.
- Knowledge of labor contracts and participation in manager call rotation.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
The schedule for this position may vary based on business needs and includes occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
