About the role
The US Oncology Network is looking for a Practice Director to join our team at Texas Oncology, supporting the Cedar Park, Marble Falls, and Leander locations. This is a full-time Monday–Friday position with no weekends, call, or major holidays.
As part of The US Oncology Network, Texas Oncology delivers high-quality, evidence-based cancer care to patients close to home. With approximately 530 providers in 280+ sites across Texas, Texas Oncology treats half of all Texans diagnosed with cancer annually.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and objectives; ensure their adequate execution, compliance, and updates.
- Evaluate general and specific business conditions related to operational issues and advise the governing body and Executive Director.
- Assist in developing organizational objectives and plans for their achievement.
- Oversee development of systems (manual and automated) to support practice-wide activities based on business need.
- Coordinate hardware and software requirements for existing and future systems.
- Develop and implement organizational procedures and controls to promote communication and information flow.
- Monitor, analyze, assess, and communicate practice progress; consider present and planned capacity, manpower, facilities, and technology.
- Direct preparation and maintenance of management reports necessary to carry out practice functions; prepare periodic reports as required.
- Ensure compliance and adherence to the organization’s structure, management philosophy, and mission statements.
- Oversee development and coordination of new office locations and their needs as required.
- Supervise all practice staff; clinical work direction provided by physicians.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business field; or relevant equivalent experience.
- Associate degree plus four years of related work experience.
- Eight years of related work experience.
- Minimum seven years of healthcare management experience, including at least three years in a supervisory capacity.
Physical Demands
- Requires sitting for long periods; some bending and stretching.
- Adequate finger dexterity and feeling to perform keyboarding and substantial repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- Requires vision and hearing corrected to normal range; ability to view computer screen and printed material accurately.
- Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs.
Work Environment
- Typical office setting.
- Occasional travel by air or automobile, approximately 20% of the time.
