Practice Builder - Landscape Architecture
About the Role
Kimley-Horn is seeking a motivated Senior Project Manager (Practice Builder) to expand our Landscape Architecture practice in West Palm Beach, FL. The successful candidate will lead a practice specializing in high-end design and technically complex landscape architectural services, with an entrepreneurial spirit to drive growth for the practice while managing projects, clients, and teams. This position offers significant autonomy to lead, direct, and grow the business, with rewards tied to performance and contributions to firmwide success.
Responsibilities
- Work in a dynamic team environment on a range of private and public development projects for diverse clients.
- Manage, lead, and expand practice teams for high-end design and technically complex projects.
- Develop and execute a vision for growth in the high-end design practice and beyond.
- Leverage autonomy to lead, direct, and grow the business while managing projects profitably.
- Transition work to qualified staff, mentor and grow team members, and act as a positive leader.
- Engage with clients to solve project problems and collaborate with teams to deliver results.
- Participate in business development and marketing efforts, including writing proposals, developing scopes of work, and creating project budgets.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience growing and leading a landscape architecture practice or studio.
- Registered Professional/Certified Landscape Architect (PLA/CLA) license or ability to obtain within one year.
- Proven experience in business development, marketing, and relationship-building with extensive client contacts.
- Strong desire and ability to engage with clients and solve project challenges collaboratively.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and technical skills, with a positive and effective management style.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects profitably and mentor staff.
