Practice Builder - Landscape Architecture
About the Role
Kimley-Horn has an opportunity for a motivated Senior Project Manager (Practice Builder) to expand our Landscape Architecture practice in Orlando, FL. The successful candidate will be a leader in a practice specializing in high-end design and technically complex landscape architectural services. This individual will have an entrepreneurial spirit and create a vision for growth while growing their own projects, clients, and team. The position leads business development efforts, manages relationships with key clients, and oversees all project tasks while mentoring younger staff. Responsibilities
- Work in a dynamic team environment on a range of projects including private and public development throughout the region for a wide variety of clients.
- Manage, lead, and expand practice teams for high-end design and technically complicated projects.
- Provide services to both public and private sectors, ensuring diverse project experience.
- Create a vision for growth of the high-end design practice and beyond with an entrepreneurial spirit.
- Lead, direct, and grow the business with a great deal of autonomy.
- Manage projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, and mentor team members.
- Act as a positive leader and mentor within the organization.
- Develop relationships with extensive client contacts and engage in business development and marketing activities, including writing proposals, developing scopes of work, and creating budgets.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience growing and leading a landscape architecture practice or studio.
- Registered Professional/Certified Landscape Architect (PLA/CLA) license or ability to obtain within 1 year.
- Business development and marketing experience.
- Strong desire and ability to engage with clients, solve project problems, and work with the team to deliver results.
- Ability to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to manage and mentor staff and direct resources effectively in a positive manner.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects profitably.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and technical skills.
