Practical Nurse-Licensed E9

About the role

The Licensed Practical Nurse E9 provides a full range of nursing care through the application of policies, procedures, standards and protocols, under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. They provide total patient care for an assigned group of patients, assist with hygiene needs, activities of daily living, and ambulation as needed. They assess patients within the LPN scope of practice, train and demonstrate competency. They administer medications and treatments, and keep the RN informed of patient condition changes and responses.

Responsibilities

• Provides total patient care for an assigned group of patients.
• Affixes to patients' hygiene needs.
• Affixes to patients' activities of daily living.
• Affixes to patients' ambulation as needed.
• Affixes to patients' assessments within the LPN scope of practice.
• Affixes to patients' training and competency demonstrations.
• Affixes to patients' medication and treatment administration.
• Keeps the RN informed of patient condition changes and responses to treatment.
• Works with maximum security prisoners 100% of on-duty time.

Requirements

This role is subject to random drug and alcohol screening.

Qualifications

• Possession of a certificate from a practical nursing education program accepted for licensure by the Michigan Board of Nursing.

Skills

• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
• Basic computer skills for electronic health records.

Pay

Salary is commensurate with experience.
