Crawford Group(www.crawfordgroup.com) is seeking an experienced PR Manager / Senior PR Manager to lead media relations and public relations execution for our clients growing company in the United States. This is a mid-to-senior-level role for a PR professional who brings an established network of journalist relationships, particularly within networking, technology, business, and finance media. This is not a content writing role. The primary focus is PR strategy, media relationships, pitching, coordination, opportunity development, and measurement. The ideal candidate understands how journalists work, knows the reporters and influencers who matter within the company's market, and can create a consistent pipeline of credible media opportunities. This person will make it easy for journalists to understand and cover the company, its executives, customers, partnerships, and industry perspective. Success in this role means PR actually happens—relationships are developed, pitches are made, opportunities are created, executives are prepared, follow-up occurs, and results are measured. Key Responsibilities:Media Relations & Relationship Development:Own and execute the company's proactive media relations strategy.Bring an established network of relationships with relevant networking, technology, business, and finance journalists.Identify and maintain a targeted network of approximately 30–50 journalists, editors, podcasters, analysts, and industry influencers who are most relevant to the company.Develop a deep understanding of what key journalists cover, the stories they are interested in, and how and when they prefer to engage.Maintain and strengthen a core group of approximately five or more high-value journalist relationships where genuine rapport and credibility have already been established.Continually expand the company's media network through thoughtful, authentic relationship building.Serve as a trusted and responsive point of contact for journalists and media partners. PR Strategy & Pitching:Develop proactive PR strategies that align company news, executives, customer stories, partnerships, and industry trends with relevant media opportunities.Identify compelling angles and determine which journalists, publications, podcasts, analysts, or industry platforms are appropriate for each opportunity.Proactively pitch relevant company news, executive perspectives, customer stories, and industry insights.Monitor industry conversations and news cycles to identify timely opportunities for the company and its executives to participate.Create a steady pipeline of earned media opportunities rather than relying solely on major company announcements.Ensure pitches and supporting information make company stories straight forward and compelling for journalists to cover.Track outreach, follow-up, responses, opportunities, and resulting coverage. PR Program Coordination:Partner with internal stakeholders and external resources to coordinate PR activities that may include:Customer announcements and customer stories.Partnership announcements.Contributed articles and bylined opportunities.Conference appearances.Executive interviews.Podcast appearances.Analyst briefings.Speaking opportunities.Industry commentary and expert-source opportunities.Other earned media and thought-leadership opportunities. Qualifications:Approximately 7+ years of public relations, communications, media relations, or related experience, with experience operating at a PR Manager, Senior PR Manager, Account Director, or comparable level.Demonstrated success securing meaningful earned media coverage for technology, networking, financial services, fintech, enterprise technology, or related organizations.Existing relationships with relevant networking, technology, business, and/or finance journalists are strongly preferred and will be an important consideration in candidate selection.Ability to demonstrate an established media network and discuss the types of journalists, publications, and industry contacts they have successfully worked with.Strong understanding of how journalists evaluate stories and what makes a company, executive, or announcement worth covering.Proven ability to develop targeted pitches and successfully convert outreach into interviews, coverage, podcasts, speaking engagements, or other credible opportunities.Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills.Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple PR opportunities, deadlines, stakeholders, and follow-ups simultaneously.Comfortable operating independently and taking ownership of PR execution from strategy through measurement.Strong judgment and an understanding of when a story should—and should not—be pitched.
