CliniCloud is a hardware startup building world-class consumer medical devices. We’re a small and growing team of physicians, designers, engineers, developers, marketing, and business professionals preparing to bring our first product—the medical kit of the future—to market. We are launching this product shortly via a crowdfunding campaign and are seeking an experienced and connected PR/Communications expert to join our team to help build awareness of our product and brand during this critical launch phase.

About the role

The role is an initial 3-month contract based in our US office, with the potential to extend to a full-time permanent position. You will work directly with the CMO, CFO, and founding team on the development and implementation of the launch campaign and all aspects of PR leading up to the campaign. The approximate start date is January 7, 2015.

Responsibilities

  • Develop launch strategies with the C-level and founding team.
  • Collate pre-launch media lists and reach out to initial journalists.
  • Arrange interviews with journalists and bloggers who reach out during the campaign.
  • Work with the team to develop suitable PR angles for approaching different types of audiences and publications.
  • Write content (press releases, social media posts, blog posts, updates) during the campaign.
  • Send press kits to interested parties.
  • Collate a list of journalists and bloggers who would like to trial our product when ready.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience launching a technology (ideally consumer electronics) brand.
  • Demonstrated experience securing press and blog coverage within relevant segments: Tech, Business, Mainstream, Lifestyle, Health and Wellness, Parenting, etc.
  • Existing relationships with reporters and bloggers in the US within the above segments.
  • Degree qualified in PR, Communications, Business, Health, or Engineering.
  • Experience writing newsworthy articles and press releases for varying audiences.
  • High level of interest in technology and ideally health, wellness, or medical technology.
  • Multilingual candidates and/or those with press relationships in Europe and Asia Pacific will be highly regarded.

This role begins as a contract but has the potential to transition to full-time employment for the right candidate.
