Responsibilities
- Operates and controls primary power generation and HVAC systems, including boilers, turbines, generators, reactors, chillers, and cooling towers using control boards and computers.
- Monitors facility equipment, meters, gauges, and charts at regular intervals to regulate power flow, adjust fluid levels, and detect operational problems.
- Performs preventive maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs—such as tightening leaking glands and pipe joints—to prevent equipment deterioration or failure.
- Records and compiles operational data in logs, forms, and reports, and documents equipment malfunctions to ensure accurate tracking of plant status.
- Responds to power outages and emergencies by handling outage calls, summoning necessary personnel, and participating in mandatory meetings, training, and special projects.
Qualifications
- Must have one or more of the following: Relevant license
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Graduate of trade school
- 2 years of relevant experience
- Other equivalent combination of relevant education or experience
