About the Role
The Powerade Performance Nutrition Fellow will be immersed in collegiate performance nutrition, support the advancement of our program, and provide high-level nutrition support for student-athletes in line with the mission and vision of the LSU Performance Nutrition department. The fellowship will be for 1 year, subject to continuation for an additional year (2-year appointment maximum).

Responsibilities
- 50% Medical Nutrition Therapy & Counseling:
- Provide Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT), individual and team sport performance nutrition counseling, and life skills educational programming for assigned teams.
- Serve as an active member of the Eating Disorder/Disordered Eating Task Force.
- Collaborate on performance nutrition menu planning and development with the Executive Chef and Director of the Performance Nutrition Center.
- 25% Data & Operations Management:
- Manage data for performance nutrition research, NoteMeal software, and sports science projects.
- Oversee inventory and maintenance of 3 main fueling stations.
- Represent LSU Performance Nutrition at recruiting events, tours, and presentations.
- 20% Department & Logistics Support:
- Assist the Director of Performance Nutrition with department development tasks as assigned.
- Supervise 20-30 student volunteer interns and Dietetic Interns (DI).
- Manage home and away game day logistics as assigned.
- Attend team practices, lifts, and games as assigned.
- 5% Institutional & Cultural Contributions:
- Advance and support LSU and Athletics Department initiatives through participation in educational and developmental opportunities.
- Contribute to creating a respectful culture consistent with LSU’s core values.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Nutrition or related field.
- Registered Dietitian credential.
- Ability to obtain licensure in the state of Louisiana upon hire.
Special or Physical Qualifications
- Ability to work extended days, weekends, and holidays.
- Travel may be required.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.
Nutrition Support Provided
- Individual goal setting and comprehensive body composition assessments.
- Meal compliance monitoring and menu planning/development.
- Competition fueling strategies and performance lab analysis.
- Eating disorder/disordered eating screening and dietary supplement review.
- Performance nutrition research and policy development.
