About the role
This position actively participates as a member of the South Florida Sports Nutrition Staff, assisting with Olympic Sports teams. Responsibilities include oversight of the Lee Roy Selmon Athletics Center fueling station and satellite fueling stations, team nutrition education, in-season fueling plans, menu writing, and cooking classes.
Responsibilities
- Team oversight assignments, including direct assistance to the Director of Olympic Sports Nutrition with women’s and men’s basketball. Additional teams may include men’s and women’s soccer, softball, baseball, track and field, men’s and women’s tennis, men’s and women’s golf, or sailing.
- Management of education, counseling, and fueling for assigned Olympic sports teams, including initial nutrition assessment meetings, follow-ups, team talks, food demos, and locker room snack orders.
- Assist full-time Sports Dietitians with real-time meal education, cooking demos, and hydration management during assigned meal periods.
- Conduct and analyze sweat tests for assigned sports teams as needed.
- Perform body composition analysis and planning.
- Provide hydration recommendations based on sweat tests collected via Sweat Patch or MX3 analysis.
- Complete pre- and post-competition catering orders, including setting up and breaking down performance nutrition stations.
- Develop menus for athletic dining tailored to individual team needs.
- Assess nutritionally relevant lab work and recommend supplement prescriptions related to CBC w/ differential, iron panels, Vitamin D, B12, or other performance-related vitamins or minerals.
- Oversee assigned teams’ nutrition budget and product management for each team’s individual needs.
- Manage product inventory, including ordering, receiving, storing, and distribution to the fueling station, teams, and athletic facilities.
- Onboard and train new employees, including Fueling Station Managers, Dietetic Interns, Federal Work Study students, and volunteers.
- Assist in the development and continuous improvement of nutrition education materials and resources, and write a monthly newsletter for staff, students, and coaches.
- Examine and translate scientific research related to nutrition, athletic performance, and dietary supplements.
- Assist sports dietitians with administrative duties, including budget and purchasing card management.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the sports nutrition staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in nutrition or a health-related field.
- Registered Dietitian licensure (must obtain state licensure within the first 90 days of employment).
- Commitment to working non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Desire to pursue a career in sports nutrition is highly recommended.
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of previous sports nutrition experience.
Skills
- Ability to be flexible and adjust to schedule changes.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with all members of the Performance Staff and other athletic department personnel.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Canva to assist in the creation of education materials and presentations.
- Knowledge and understanding of NCAA bylaws.

Pay
Fixed salary of $47,000.00, paid bi-weekly.

Appointment begins as early as July 2026 and concludes June 2027.
