Bring your energy to Aggreko as a Power Technician based in Mendon, MA. You’ll perform installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and repair of Aggreko's electrical power distribution equipment, including transformers, switchgear, load banks, cables, and related systems. This role supports both field and service center operations while ensuring compliance with safety regulations, technical standards, and customer expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs of power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, and/or oil-free air compressors
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop and on customer locations, and handle the repairs
  • Set up and operate equipment at the shop and on customer sites, either independently or as part of a team
  • Work in the field with daily local travel using a company vehicle
  • Work overtime and weekends, with potential for travel

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 3-7 years of experience working on power generators equipment, performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs
  • Experience with calculating nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements, along with reading and interpreting schematics
  • Based on customer requirements, ability to obtain and maintain a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to move or lift objects, typically less than 50 lbs
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and sit for prolonged periods; walk over uneven terrain; and maintain functional balance without assistive devices
  • Must be able to move extremities and spine through a functional range of motion to safely perform work from ground/floor level to full overhead level
  • Good finger dexterity, functional hand-eye coordination, and adequate grip strength to safely hold tools and navigate stairs or ladders
  • Must pass a post-offer physical abilities assessment, including lifting (60 lbs), push/pull (80 lbs), carry (60 lbs), climb stairs and ladders, and perform combined climbing while carrying objects (15 lbs), stooping, kneeling, and squatting
  • Availability to work the assigned schedule, travel to work locations if needed, and be on standby for work outside of regularly scheduled shifts
