About the role

The Power Surgical Equipment Technician I plays a crucial role in ensuring that surgical medical equipment is in optimal working condition. This position requires a combination of technical skills and mechanical aptitude to repair and maintain various surgical instruments and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, evaluate, and test equipment to identify issues.
  • Disassemble and assemble equipment and instruments as needed, including the removal and replacement of defective parts.
  • Document all services and testing performed, including parts used.
  • Maintain work area in compliance with Visual Work Place (VWP) Standards.
  • Handle timecard and time off entry, review, and submission.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned or needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED.
  • 1-2 years of experience with repairs.
  • The ability to sit, stand, lift, bend, and stoop often.
  • The ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
  • The ability to use computer devices and systems as needed.
  • The ability to use various tools and equipment requiring hand-eye coordination.
  • Flexibility in work schedule to meet department needs.
  • The ability to handle and assemble small parts.
  • The ability to repair identified basic equipment models and maintain modality/department standards.

  • Experience with repairs.
  • Physical abilities to perform the above tasks.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Tool proficiency.
  • Flexibility in scheduling.
  • Ability to handle and assemble small parts.
  • Ability to repair basic equipment models.
