Power Platform Architect
About the role
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Power Platform Architect / Technical Lead to help accelerate the development and delivery of enterprise applications built within the Microsoft Power Platform ecosystem. This individual will play a key role in identifying and resolving technical challenges, improving application architecture and performance, and directly contributing to development efforts. The ideal candidate combines strong Power Platform architecture expertise with a hands-on software engineering background. We need someone who can quickly assess technical issues, recommend practical solutions, and personally implement improvements rather than solely providing architectural guidance. This role requires a proactive, solutions-oriented technical leader who can work independently, collaborate with developers, and make an immediate impact in a fast-paced development environment.
The ideal candidate is a senior technical professional who brings both architectural expertise and strong hands-on development capabilities. They are comfortable evaluating complex technical environments, identifying opportunities for improvement, and taking ownership of implementing solutions. This person should be able to step into an existing development team, quickly understand its challenges, and contribute directly to improving development velocity and application performance. This is a hands-on technical leadership position, not a purely advisory or architecture oversight role.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on technical leadership for enterprise Power Platform application development, working closely with developers and technical stakeholders to accelerate delivery.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical challenges involving Power Apps, Dataverse, integrations, application performance, and scalability.
- Design, develop, and implement scalable solutions using Microsoft Power Platform technologies, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Dataverse.
- Evaluate existing application architecture, identify opportunities for improvement, and personally implement technical solutions and fixes.
- Support Dataverse architecture, data modeling, security design, and integrations across enterprise applications.
- Contribute directly to application development, technical enhancements, and the completion of development user stories.
- Improve development and deployment practices, including CI/CD pipelines, source control, application lifecycle management (ALM), and DevOps automation.
- Collaborate with enterprise architects, development leads, and cross-functional teams on technical design decisions and application improvements.
- Provide technical guidance, troubleshooting support, and development best practices to other team members.
- Help improve overall development efficiency, application reliability, and team productivity.
Requirements
- 10+ years of overall software engineering and solution architecture experience, including 5+ years of hands-on Power Platform architecture experience.
- Extensive hands-on software engineering experience, including senior-level application development, technical architecture, or technical leadership responsibilities.
- Strong experience designing, developing, and implementing solutions within Microsoft Power Platform, particularly Power Apps and Dataverse.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex application issues, identify root causes, and personally develop and implement solutions.
- Experience designing and supporting scalable enterprise applications, including application performance optimization and integration development.
- Strong understanding of Dataverse architecture, data modeling, security, and integration patterns.
- Experience with application development lifecycle practices, including source control, CI/CD, ALM, or DevOps processes.
- Ability to work independently, quickly understand an existing application environment, and contribute with minimal onboarding.
- Strong technical problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to provide technical leadership while remaining actively involved in development.
Qualifications
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale Power Platform applications with 2,000+ active users.
- Experience with Azure integrations, Azure DevOps, GitHub, and automated deployment frameworks.
- Experience establishing Power Platform governance, environment strategies, security models, and development standards.
- Background in traditional full-stack software development, particularly .NET/C#, JavaScript, or related technologies.
- Microsoft Power Platform certifications.
- Experience supporting enterprise modernization or transformation initiatives.
- Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) experience.
