Power Plant Operator

Essential Functions

• Monitor equipment by measuring, recording, and adjusting accordingly to plant-operating criteria
• Perform daily maintenance such as greasing and aligning motors, repairing, and replacing sensors, gauges, relays, etc.
• Used prescribed plant operating procedures to conduct efficient and effective plant uptime while maximizing plant output
• Assist in the maintenance and construction-related activities in and around the plant
• Perform regular upkeep of maintenance and housekeeping in the shop / office facilities and power plant grounds
• Collaborates with the team to develop and implement maintenance and quality assurance
• Conducts all work with “Safety” emphasis and a priority of all individuals onsite, and the safety of company resources
• Operates rolling equipment
• Maintains daily logs and reports as required
• Works overtime, weekends, holidays, etc. as required to complete the job necessary
• Responsible for immediate reporting of all accidents and incidents

Required Skills/Abilities

• Ability to operate service truck, backhoe, forklift, or manlift on regular basis
• Strong mechanical aptitude and basic understanding of chemistry, physics, electricity, and mathematics
• Ability to work at our various plants on occasion as needed
• Knowledge of and compliance with all OHSA safety procedures and protocol
• Ability to work as a team and share knowledge
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Possess a valid state driver’s license
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug testing, and random tests during employment

Education and Experience

• Minimum High School diploma or equivalent
• Preferred General maintenance knowledge

Physical Requirements

• Requires heavy exertion in forms of pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying heavy objects constantly
• Requires ability to work from high elevations and over platforms consistently
• Requires ability to stand for long periods of time consistently
• Requires ability to stoop, bend or kneel frequently
• Requires ability to work in all weather conditions up to 70% of time outdoors, year-round
• Requires ability to lift up to 50lbs consistently
• Must be able to traverse all areas of construction sites and/or Power Plant
• Must be able to travel to various locations
• Must be able to operate a company vehicle with a valid driver’s license
