Power Plant Mechanic-WERDCC

About the role

Repairs/maintains boilers and related equipment such as feed water pumps/circulating pumps/valves and regulators/steam and water lines. Repairs/replaces steam and water lines, unions, regulators, strainers, steam traps, and related equipment; replaces seals and gaskets in a variety of power plant equipment. Tests and monitors the water treatment system of boilers. Maintains/repairs electrical and/or electronic components such as replacing parts in control panels, repairing broken wires and related work. Reads sketches and diagrams in performing maintenance and repair work.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older
• Four or more years of on-the-job training in a trade area, or completion of a relevant technical program, or certification in a relevant field

Pay

• $2.00 per hour shift differential if assigned to a shift that begins on or between 12:00pm (noon) and 5:00am and employed at a 24/7 congregate care facility (institution, transition center, supervision center, or command center)
• $0.75 per hour medium security or $1.50 maximum security differential if working full-time at a qualifying facility
• $1.00 per hour restrictive housing differential if assigned a regular post within a restrictive housing/segregation unit at any facility
