About the role
This classification performs skilled mechanical work in the repair and maintenance of equipment in reciprocating engines, gas turbine, landfill gas equipment and accessories.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service to all employees, customers, vendors and other City departments.
- Model and practice the highest standards of ethical conduct.
- Develop necessary skills from on-the-job training and meet standards of performance for the classification by the end of the probationary period.
- Operate or use all position-related software, equipment and tools effectively and safely.
- Participate in maintaining a secure computing environment by adhering to and implementing City cybersecurity policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Work independently and/or in a team setting.
- Comply with the National Standards Institute's requirements on practices for respiratory protection and hearing loss.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of experience performing semi-skilled mechanical repair and maintenance work, including some experience in the maintenance and operation, or repair of turbines, reciprocating engines, and auxiliaries.
- Valid Class C California driver's license.
