Power & HVAC Technician - Level 2

Job Description Summary

The Power & HVAC Technician 2 at Sunbelt Rentals is responsible for performing diagnostics and equipment repairs in the safest and most effective way possible, with an emphasis on returning equipment to service to avoid downtime. The role requires a combination of mechanical and technical skills, as well as the ability to work independently and be flexible regarding work assignments.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics and repairs on Power/Compressors/Load Banks and HVAC equipment
• Leverage current skills in a challenging role
• Work with a team of experienced professionals
• Ensure equipment is returned to service to minimize downtime
• Read and understand electric schematics and hydraulic flow drawings
• Work independently and be flexible regarding work assignments
• Work with a variety of equipment, including generators, power distribution, A/C, heaters, and shoring systems
• Understand compressed air treatment (dryers/filters/aftercoolers)
• Work both indoors and outdoors as required by the job

Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of mechanic experience with similar diesel equipment and Power/Compressors/Load Banks and HVAC equipment
• Basic understanding of refrigeration (EPA Certified), electrical engines and controllers, dehumidification equipment, compressed air treatment (dryers/filters/aftercoolers)
• Knowledge of generators, power distribution, A/C, Heater and Shoring; possesses an understanding of diesel equipment, generators and air compressors
• Ability to read and understand electric schematics and hydraulic flow
• Experience with similar equipment preferred
