Key Responsibilities
- Perform skilled tasks in the diagnosis of malfunctions, repairs, preventative maintenance, adjustments, and overhauls
- Maintain open communication with management team regarding job status, updates, and changes
- Use low and high voltage load banks for testing and repair of generator sets
- Determine corrective action through inspection of failed parts
- Order replacement parts and services in efficient and effective manner
- Perform electrical and mechanical repairs to the engine, generator, or components
- Perform startup and commissioning on large genset units with automatic transfer switches
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of standing and/or walking
- Occasional heavy lifting and pushing/pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds (or more)
- Frequent use of hands to manipulate and grasp objects
- Reach with hands and arms
- Climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, stretch, or twist to perform repairs and inspections
- Good vision to inspect repair work and effective communication are essential
- Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present
- Work in areas with temperature and/or humidity extremes
