Power Generation Field Service Technician

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform skilled tasks in the diagnosis of malfunctions, repairs, preventative maintenance, adjustments, and overhauls
  • Maintain open communication with management team regarding job status, updates, and changes
  • Use low and high voltage load banks for testing and repair of generator sets
  • Determine corrective action through inspection of failed parts
  • Order replacement parts and services in efficient and effective manner
  • Perform electrical and mechanical repairs to the engine, generator, or components
  • Perform startup and commissioning on large genset units with automatic transfer switches

Requirements

  • Experience as a technician preferred, but not required
  • Commitment to safety and cleanliness
  • Ability to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present
  • Physical demands: prolonged periods of standing and/or walking, occasional heavy lifting and pushing/pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical principles
  • Good vision and effective communication skills
