Field Service Power Generation Technician
About the role
We are looking for a talented Field Service Power Generation Technician / Mechanic to join our Distribution Business in Columbia, MO. In this role, you will make an impact by completing repair activities on generators or components, engaging with customers in a courteous and professional manner, performing maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools, maintaining detailed records of service, adhering to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies, and ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products.
Responsibilities
- Completing repair activities on generators or components
- Engaging with customers in a courteous and professional manner
- Maintain detailed records of service
- Adequate knowledge of and/or experience with power generation products
- High Voltage/ Low Voltage experience
- Performs preventative maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics on generators
- Primarily engaged in preventative maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics on generators
- Basic Diesel Engine experience
- Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality
Requirements
- Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilities
- High Voltage / Low Voltage experience
- Capable of electrical repair and maintenance with minimal supervision – hands on exposure to working on power generation products
- Primarily engaged in preventative maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics on generators
- Basic Diesel Engine experience
- Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality
Qualifications
- Apprentice Trained Power Generation/ Electrical Technician (Preferred)
- Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
- Current relevant electrical certification
Skills
- Local valid driving permit

Schedule
Our business hours are 7:30 AM - 4 Pm M-F. This FSPG role Hrs may flex depending on customer needs.
Additional Information
- This roll will require a CDL Drivers License at time of hire or within 6 months on filling the role
- This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free of major violations
- This role is subject to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) drug and alcohol testing requirements and on going random drug and alcohol testing
- This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
- This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use
- Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age
