About the role

We are looking for a talented Field Service Power Generation Technician / Mechanic to join our Distribution Business in Columbia, MO. In this role, you will make an impact by completing repair activities on generators or components, engaging with customers in a courteous and professional manner, performing maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools, maintaining detailed records of service, adhering to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies, and ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products.

Responsibilities

  • Completing repair activities on generators or components
  • Engaging with customers in a courteous and professional manner
  • Maintain detailed records of service
  • Adequate knowledge of and/or experience with power generation products
  • High Voltage/ Low Voltage experience
  • Performs preventative maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics on generators
  • Primarily engaged in preventative maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics on generators
  • Basic Diesel Engine experience
  • Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality

Requirements

  • Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilities
  • High Voltage / Low Voltage experience
  • Capable of electrical repair and maintenance with minimal supervision – hands on exposure to working on power generation products
  • Primarily engaged in preventative maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics on generators
  • Basic Diesel Engine experience
  • Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality

Qualifications

  • Apprentice Trained Power Generation/ Electrical Technician (Preferred)
  • Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
  • Current relevant electrical certification

Skills

  • Local valid driving permit

Compensation and Benefits: Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Schedule

Our business hours are 7:30 AM - 4 Pm M-F. This FSPG role Hrs may flex depending on customer needs.

Additional Information

  • This roll will require a CDL Drivers License at time of hire or within 6 months on filling the role
  • This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free of major violations
  • This role is subject to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) drug and alcohol testing requirements and on going random drug and alcohol testing
  • This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
  • This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use
  • Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age
