About the role
NextEra Energy, a leading provider of clean energy solutions, is seeking an experienced Business Analyst II to join the Business Services Cost and Performance team. The primary responsibility of this role is forecasting for NEER Solar technology’s ALF and ALR (availability lost factor and revenue), and its impact on executive reporting and budgeting. Additionally, the role involves providing actionable recommendations to drive down costs.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough ALR (availability lost revenue) cost analysis, including monitoring intramonth cost fluctuations, and identifying areas for improvement.
- Responsible for Solar ALR budget process, working with stakeholders such as Business Management, Engineers, Site Managers, General Managers, and ultimately Senior Leadership.
- Develop and prepare executive reports on technologies’ performance, cost trends, and other key metrics.
- Utilize advanced analytics techniques to identify and analyze data trends; continuously look for automation and process improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and validate data, ensuring accuracy and completeness; ability and willingness to take on additional responsibilities beyond Solar ALR to support full Business Services team.
- Present findings and recommendations to management in a clear and concise manner.
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging technologies in data analysis and reporting.
Qualifications
- Experience in business analysis, preferably in a similar role.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and data visualization techniques.
- Experience with executive reporting tools, such as PowerBI. SAP forecasting input experience is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex datasets and identify trends and patterns.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate insights and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and propose innovative solutions.
- Experience in the energy industry or a related field is a plus.
