Postdoctoral Scientist - Melanoma & Immunotherapy (Zheng Lab)

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Scientist to join our research team focused on advancing our understanding of cancer biology, with a particular emphasis on melanoma. Our laboratory is dedicated to deciphering the molecular alterations in metabolic regulation and signal transduction that drive cancer progression. In this role, you will contribute to cutting-edge research aimed at translating scientific discoveries into personalized targeted and immunotherapies, ultimately working toward finding cures for melanoma.

This Postdoctoral Scientist role is designed as a training opportunity for those who have recently completed their PhD or doctoral degree. To ensure we provide the intended mentorship and career development, we are looking for candidates who are within five years of completing their doctorate.

Responsibilities

• Designs and performs experiments, keeping appropriate experimental records and documentation, and analyzing results with the Principal Investigator.
• May develop, adapt, and implement new research techniques and protocols.
• Analyzes, interprets, summarizes, and compiles data.
• Performs routine and complex laboratory procedures throughout the training period.
• Operates and maintains equipment and instruments.
• May assist in preparation of grant proposals but is not responsible for generating grant funds.
• May participate in publications and presentations as author or co-author.
• May observe MD-patient or MD-human research subject interactions as it pertains directly to research being performed.

Requirements

• Doctorate (MD, PhD, VMD, or DDS) in an area directly related to the field of research specialization.
• Acquires thorough technical and theoretical knowledge of research project and objectives during a one- to five-year post-doctoral appointment.
