About the position
A postdoctoral position is available in the Biology Department at the Pennsylvania State University to study population genetics and the evolution of gene regulatory networks in bats under the supervision of Dr. Juan Manuel Vazquez. The Vazquez Lab studies the evolution of aging-related traits across mammals and the gene regulatory networks that govern them, with a focus on DNA damage repair, chromatin stability, and metabolism. This is a term position; length of the term will be discussed during the interview process. Continuation past the term length discussed will be based on university need, performance, and/or availability of funding.
Requirements
- A Ph.D is required; a Ph.D in the fields of population genetics or ecology and evolution is ideal.
- Prior experience in population genetic analysis, including variant calling, is required.
