Postdoctoral Scholar Position in AI for Earth and Environmental Sciences at Syracuse University

About the role

The position is a Postdoctoral Scholar in AI for Earth and Environmental Sciences within the research group of Associate Professor Tao Tao Wen at Syracuse University.

Responsibilities

• Focus on AI/ML, environmental data science, foundation AI models, geochemical and hydrologic datasets, energy and environmental systems, and catchment sciences.

Requirements

• PhD in Earth and Environmental Sciences, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience with AI/ML techniques and environmental data analysis.
• Strong publication record in relevant fields.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Interest in interdisciplinary research.

Skills

• Proficiency in Python, R, or similar programming languages.
• Experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn.
• Knowledge of geospatial data analysis tools like QGIS or ArcGIS.
• Experience with database management systems.
