About the role
The University of Washington Information School (iSchool) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar position with the Data Services for Indigenous Scholarship and Sovereignty (DSISS) initiative. This initiative supports responsible stewardship of Indigenous research data in libraries and repositories.
Responsibilities
- Develop a collaborative curation approach that centers Indigenous research methods and data sovereignty.
- Contribute to a repository testbed grounded in the values and priorities of scholars of Indigenous culture and language and Indigenous communities.
- Explore how the CARE Principles for Indigenous Data Governance can be applied to enhance stewardship of established Indigenous digital collections in libraries and archives.
Requirements
- PhD in Library and Information Science, Informatics, or related field.
- Demonstrated expertise in Indigenous data governance and/or research data management.
- Experience with Indigenous communities and cultural protocols.
- Strong research skills and publication record.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
