About the role

A Postdoctoral Scholar position is open in the lab of Dr. Xu Xiao. We are looking for a postdoctoral Scholar with a strong background in cell biology and/or biochemistry, with research experience or interest in lipid metabolism. The position will focus on understanding the cellular and molecular mechanisms regulating lipid and cholesterol metabolism in metabolic diseases.

Location: Lexington, KY. Position type: Temporary, Full-Time.

Responsibilities

• Perform experiments and analyze data.
• Assist in the dissemination of results through abstracts and papers.
• Investigate cellular and molecular mechanisms regulating lipid and cholesterol metabolism in metabolic diseases.

Requirements

• PhD or terminal degree in a related field.
• Ability to move and lift objects from floor to above shoulders up to 25 pounds.
• Capable of standing and sitting at computer terminals and laboratory bench completing repetitive tasks for extended periods.
• Willing to work with materials requiring personal protective equipment in accordance with EH&S policy.

Pay

$63,480–$71,748 per year.

Schedule

Primarily days Monday–Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; some evenings and weekends may be required due to experimentation.
