Postdoctoral Scholar

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Cook large-scale data collection and longitudinal tracking
• Statistical analysis of data including cluster analysis
• Interview participants in a mentored setting
• Analyze qualitative data in a research team
• Triangulate qualitative and quantitative data
• Lead or contribute to publications and presentations to share results
• Develop materials and interventions from findings

Additional Duties To Support Goals And Growth

• Mentored teaching experiences
• Mentored grant writing
• Contributing to other projects
• Other academic pursuits

Education/Experience

PhD in engineering education, DBER, engineering, or a STEM field with an interest in education required

Experience in a higher education or non-profit sector desired

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Ability to communicate effectively with various groups through both oral and written channels
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
• Strong educational research skills, especially in quantitative and/or mixed methods
• Experience with statistical analysis including cluster analysis
• Comprehensive computer skills, with the ability to learn and utilize new and emerging technology
• Familiarity with Qualtrics and SAS, JMP, or similar statistical software packages
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and standard methods of digital communication, including web/text/chat platforms
• Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy and discretion in dealing with faculty, staff, and students
• Work independently as well as function effectively in a team and within a diverse group of people
• Exercise good judgment in complex, new, and/or stressful situations
• Manage multiple, concurrent projects, and meet set deadlines
• Adaptability, flexibility and a willingness to work in a changing environment
