Salary range: A reasonable estimate for this position is $69,073-$79,727 depending on experience level. See POSTDOCTORAL SCHOLAR EXPERIENCE-BASED SALARY/STIPEND MINIMUM -FISCAL YEAR.
About the Role
The Department of Psychology at the University of California, Irvine is seeking to hire up to two postdoctoral fellows. Postdocs will be part of the Emotion Lab, directed by Dr. Susan Charles who is collaborating with a team of researchers to examine socioemotional processes across the adult lifespan, and how they contribute to physical and cognitive well-being. The project will include advanced quantitative methods to examine how social connections are related to biomarkers and behaviors that are linked to long-term physical and cognitive health outcomes. We are interested in candidates with experience studying social processes, emotional experiences, and cognition across later adulthood.

- Conducting advanced quantitative analyses
- Presenting findings at academic conferences
- Writing and publishing peer-reviewed papers
- Assisting in annual reports
- Mentoring undergraduate and graduate students
Qualifications
- PhD in psychology (required at time of application)
- Publication record in scientific journals focused on aging and lifespan development
- Excellent quantitative data analysis skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
