About the role
The Nordic Africa Institute is seeking a post-doctoral researcher to join its team of resident researchers. The position is specifically targeted towards a researcher with current residence and professional affiliation in Finland, focusing on the areas of political development, particularly African experiences and prospects of democracy and good governance.
Responsibilities
- Conduct academic and policy-relevant research on African issues related to democracy and good governance.
- Explore state structures, political institutions, and regime changes in Africa.
- Analyze the social, economic, and cultural conditions and consequences of these developments.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in academic and policy-relevant research on African issues.
- Current residence and professional affiliation in Finland.
- PhD in a relevant field such as political science, international relations, or a related discipline.
- Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
Qualifications
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to synthesize complex information.
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
- Fluency in English and proficiency in another African language.
