Responsibilities
- Contribute to a collaborative project investigating the evolutionarily conserved functions of microRNAs and their subcellular transport during development.
- Utilize microinjection, cellular, molecular, biochemical, proteomics, and fluorescence microscopy techniques to assess microRNA regulation and functions in fixed and living embryos and mammalian cells.
- Plan and execute research tasks independently.
- Write up and present findings on a regular basis.
- Mentor and work alongside a small team of undergraduate and graduate students.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Developmental Biology, Cell Biology, RNA Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
- A strong background in molecular and cellular biology techniques, including molecular cloning, confocal imaging, protein expression, biochemistry, and cell culture.
- Demonstrated experience in experimental design, data analysis, and data interpretation, alongside a proven ability to bring research projects to completion and publication.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
- A record of publishing at least one first-author peer-reviewed article from prior research work.
- Preferred: Experience with bioinformatics procedures, specifically programming in R to analyze large datasets such as high-throughput nucleic acid sequencing (e.g., RNA-seq) and proteomics datasets.
Pay
Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
Schedule
Initial appointment of 1 year, renewable based on performance and funding availability.
