Postdoctoral Researcher - ABC Innovation Lab

About the role

This position will create human-centered agentic AI-enhanced data services and support further development of new open cloud, edge and blockchain-based tools, as part of a multi-year grant from the USDA’s Advancing Markets for Producers program.

Responsibilities

• 50% Research
• 35% AI/ML, Cloud and Open Plugin Updates
• 15% mentoring student researchers

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree (PhD) or equivalent in: Artificial Intelligence, Information Science, Data Science, Environmental Science, Engineering, or Policy, Management, or Computer Science.
• Experienced artificial intelligence and machine learning researcher with knowledge of R, Python, and cloud services, foundation models, LLMs, and agentic AI systems.
• Distributed system and decentralized blockchain application as well as open-source development experience helpful.
• Preferred candidates will have understanding of human-centered-design of sociotechnical systems, and strong interest in sustainability.
• Knowledge of supply-chain verification and traceability helpful.
