About the Role

The Chitnis Translational Neuroimmunology Laboratory is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join a team of researchers working on multiple sclerosis and neuroimmunological disorders. The focus is on understanding the role of Epstein Barr virus in multiple sclerosis and identifying novel therapeutic targets. Studies include human control and disease samples, with correlation to clinical outcomes.

The postdoctoral fellow will function as part of a multidisciplinary team including bench scientists, clinicians, bioinformaticians, data analysts, and trainees. A minimum two-year commitment is required.

Responsibilities

• Single-cell transcriptomic and multiome analysis
• Proteomic analysis
• Conduct and analyze flow cytometry for specific projects and subject groups
• Perform cell culture and analysis for specific projects and subject groups
• Utilize RT-PCR, Western blot, and ELISA techniques
• Conduct biostatistical analysis in conjunction with the biostatistics team
• Understand disease states and data variables
• Draft manuscripts for publication
• Deliver scientific presentations to the lab team and at conferences
• Participate in team laboratory projects as needed

Requirements

• M.D., Ph.D., or equivalent doctoral degree
• Strong background in immunology and molecular biology techniques
• Experience conducting research using human samples and/or animal models
• Proficiency in FACS and single-cell techniques
• Excellent scientific productivity, evidenced by high-quality publications
• Highly motivated to conduct independent research
• Good communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
