About the role
The position is available in the Jaebok Choi Lab within the Department of Medicine, Division of Oncology. The lab focuses on transplant immunology, particularly T cells, and seeks a postdoctoral researcher to work on T cell biology in mouse models of diseases such as graft-vs-host disease (GvHD), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE).
Responsibilities
- Manage and develop their own research projects leading to first-author publications.
- Develop expertise in T cell biology, mouse models of GvHD/GvL, IBD, or EAE, CRISPR/Cas9 guide RNA library screening, bioluminescence imaging, intestinal organoids, and multicolor flow cytometry.
- Enhance career skills including writing, public speaking, networking, and critical evaluation of scientific literature.
- Present scientific work both internally and externally with excellent communication skills.
- Aid in grant preparation and reporting.
- Prepare and submit research papers.
- Design and assist in the execution of research experiments.
- Evaluate research findings and report results.
- Conscientiously fulfill research responsibilities.
- Maintain adherence to ethical standards and good laboratory practices.
- Communicate openly and promptly with their mentor regarding laboratory matters.
- Behave collegially with co-trainees, staff, and research group members.
- Adhere to all applicable University policies, procedures, and regulations.
Requirements
- Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent terminal or doctoral degree in relevant fields such as Cell Biology, Immunology, or Molecular Biology.
- Experience in T cell biology, mouse models of GvHD/GvL, IBD, or EAE, CRISPR/Cas9 guide RNA library screening, bioluminescence imaging, intestinal organoids, and multicolor flow cytometry.
- Strong collaboration, data analysis, and laboratory operations skills.
