Job Description

The Kutluay Laboratory at WashU Medicine in Saint Louis, MO, seeks a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join their team. HIV-1 remains a significant global health challenge with no cure or vaccine available. The laboratory focuses on fundamental aspects of HIV-1 replication, virus-host interactions, and innate immune defenses, employing advanced next-generation sequencing and molecular biology techniques.

• Assists with grant preparation and reporting.
• Prepares and submits papers on research.
• Designs and conducts research experiments.
• Evaluates research findings and reports results.
• Maintains adherence to ethical standards and good laboratory practices.
• Maintains confidentiality of research records.
• Communicates openly and promptly with mentors regarding research matters.
• Maintains compliance with University policies and procedures.

Working Conditions

This position operates in a laboratory setting with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards. Physical requirements include wearing protective equipment and providing care to research animals.

Salary Range

Base pay is commensurate with experience.

Education

Required Qualifications:

• Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent terminal or doctoral degree.
