About the role
The Sarver Cardiovascular Research Center at the University of Arizona is seeking highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associates. There are three major projects in the lab: 1) studying the role of various cellular proteins in cardiac, immune, and cancer metabolism, 2) the role of mRNA-binding proteins in cell regeneration, and 3) characterization of cellular and mitochondrial iron homeostasis. Using mouse models, histology, cell culture, differential expression analyses, and molecular biology assays, our lab studies the molecular mechanisms that regulate metabolic processes and iron homeostasis both in the cytoplasm and mitochondria.
