Postdoctoral Research Associate - Developmental Neurobiology - Muscle-to-Brain Communication & Aging

About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join the group of Dr. Fabio Demontis at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN, USA.

Responsibilities

• Use mice and Drosophila to decipher the conserved mechanisms of muscle aging and proteostasis.
• Contribute to the understanding of how muscle-derived signals (myokines) affect proteostasis and the progression of age-related diseases in the central nervous system.
• Work independently as well as in collaborative research efforts.
• Have a strong desire to make a major contribution to the field of aging and neurobiology.

Requirements

• A Ph.D.
• Expertise in molecular, biochemical, and cell biological techniques.
• Training in Drosophila neurobiology and tauopathy is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• The candidate should have the ability to work independently as well as in collaborative research efforts.
• Strong desire to make a major contribution to the field of aging and neurobiology.
