Department Specific Job Summary

Conducts biomedical research focusing on mitochondrial molecular biology in health, disease, and aging.

Department Specific Job Functions

• Designs and conducts experiments to address mitochondrial biology inquiries.
• Applies for fellowships and prepares individual development plans.
• Communicates experimental outcomes at conferences and in research publications.

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or related field.
• Completed PhD, with no more than 2 years of postdoctoral experience.
• Experience with diverse molecular processes, including mitochondrial RNA structures, regulation of mitochondrial translation, and respiratory chain enzyme assembly.
• Ability to perform molecular biology and cell biology techniques.
• Experience in structural studies is preferred.
