Postdoctoral Research Associate - Bone Marrow Transplantation and Cellular Therapy

About the Role

A postdoctoral research associate position is available in the lab of Dr. Senthil Bhoopalan, focusing on developing curative therapies for bone marrow failure (BMF) disorders. The role is part of the DRIVE (Delivering Rare-disease In Vivo Editors) project, funded by ARPA-H, which aims to advance in vivo genome editing for BMF disorders such as Diamond-Blackfan anemia and GATA2 deficiency.

Responsibilities

• Develop novel research projects and ideas in collaboration with the mentor
• Design and perform experiments, interpret data, and communicate results with the scientific community
• Work with mouse models of human disease
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and external labs
• Generate initial drafts for grants and research manuscripts
• Participate in professional development activities, including grant writing

Qualifications

• PhD required

Skills

• Experience working with mice
• Strong background in cell biology and hematopoietic stem cell (HSC) biology
• Exposure to high-throughput screens, CRISPR/Cas9, and base editors is advantageous
