About the role

The successful candidate will work under the joint supervision of Prof. Alex Levchenko and Prof. Ilya Esterlis. The appointment will be for two years, with a possible third year contingent on funding and progress made. The start date is expected to be Fall 2023 but is negotiable.

Responsibilities

  • Work on topics of current interest including superconductivity in both conventional and unconventional systems, properties of the two-dimensional electron gas at intermediate and strong coupling, and optical probes of condensed matter systems.
  • Interact with other members of the condensed matter theory group and conduct independent research.
  • Complete the PhD by the start date of the appointment and demonstrate proficiency in theoretical condensed matter physics through research publications and/or presentations.

Qualifications

  • Strong background in theoretical condensed matter physics.
  • Experience in research publications and/or presentations.
