Postdoctoral Research Associate

About the role

The NYU Center for Social Media, AI, and Politics (CSMAP) is looking for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work on research examining the intersection of AI, the digital information environment and politics. We are interested in both the substantive impact of AI on the digital information environment and politics as well as innovative uses of AI to study politics.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research on the intersection of AI, the digital information environment, and politics
• Explore the substantive impact of AI on the digital information environment and politics
• Investigate innovative uses of AI to study politics

Requirements

• PhD in Political Science, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
• Strong background in research methods and quantitative analysis
• Experience with natural language processing and machine learning techniques
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Qualifications

• Passion for interdisciplinary research
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Interest in applying AI to political science research

Skills

• Expertise in Python, R, or other programming languages
• Knowledge of NLP and machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn
• Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or PowerBI
