Postdoctoral Fellowship in Environmental & Cancer Epidemiology
About the role
The postdoctoral fellow will be working under the guidance of Dr. Francine Laden on a study of the impacts of multiple environmental exposures (e.g., air pollution, temperature, UV) and social determinants of health (SDOH) on mammographic features and breast cancer. There are also opportunities to lead analyses of the effects of other spatial and contextual measures (e.g., built environment, greenness) on health behaviors and chronic disease risk in several large prospective cohort studies.
Responsibilities
- Conduct and analyze data from existing and new cohorts to investigate the impacts of environmental exposures and SDOH on health outcomes.
- Develop and implement statistical models to assess the relationships between environmental factors and health outcomes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design and conduct research projects.
- Write manuscripts and grant proposals based on research findings.
Requirements
- PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in epidemiology, environmental health, or related field.
- Programming proficiency in SAS or R.
- Excellent writing skills.
- A history of prior work on the effects of environmental exposures, SDOH, and/or the epidemiology of cancer is preferred.
