Postdoctoral Fellowship
About the role
The Maxwell Laboratory is seeking a highly motivated and creative postdoctoral fellow to study early detection and early cancer development in patients with inherited risk to cancer. Projects will involve leading studies on the clinical utility of multi-modal cancer early detection tests and early cancer development in individuals with inherited mutations in TP53 and BRCA1/2. The postdoctoral fellow will work closely with other investigators within the Basser Center for BRCA at Penn Medicine, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, St Jude’s Children’s Hospital and Ontario institute for Cancer Research.
Responsibilities
- Lead projects studying the clinical utility of multi-modal cancer early detection tests and early cancer development in patients with inherited mutations in TP53 and BRCA1/2.
- Collaborate with graduate students, research technicians, and clinical research coordinators in the lab.
- Utilize the Li Fraumeni Syndrome (LFS) and Men & BRCA Biobanks for experiments.
Requirements
- A doctoral degree (PhD, MD/PhD, MD or equivalent).
- A strong background in genomics, molecular biology, and bioinformatics.
- A background in mouse genetics and mouse models of cancer is preferred but not required.
