Postdoctoral Fellowship
About the role
The Maxwell Laboratory at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks a highly motivated and creative postdoctoral fellow to study early detection and early cancer development in patients with inherited risk to cancer. This role involves collaboration with other investigators across multiple institutions including the Basser Center for BRCA at Penn Medicine, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, St Jude’s Children’s Hospital, and the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research.
Responsibilities
- Lead projects studying the clinical utility of multi-modal cancer early detection tests and early cancer development in patients with inherited mutations in TP53 and BRCA1/2.
- Collaborate with graduate students, research technicians, and clinical research coordinators in the lab on various research initiatives.
- Utilize the established Li Fraumeni Syndrome and Men & BRCA biobanks for experiments, which contain extensive clinical information and biospecimens from patients with inherited cancer risk mutations.
Requirements
- A doctoral degree (PhD, MD/PhD, MD or equivalent).
- A strong background in genomics, molecular biology, and bioinformatics.
- A background in mouse genetics and mouse models of cancer is preferred but not required.
