Postdoctoral Fellow - Neurosurgery - Research
This position is available in the Department of Neurosurgery Research under the mentorship of Chibawanye Ene, PhD.
About the role
The postdoctoral fellow will contribute to a translational research program focused on the biology and treatment of primary brain tumors and brain metastases using clinically relevant experimental models, including representative mouse models. The fellow will provide technical and scientific support for ongoing studies examining tumor-immune interactions, mechanisms of therapeutic resistance, and determinants of treatment response in neuro-oncology.
A major focus of the laboratory will investigate how radiation therapy may be strategically integrated with immunotherapeutic approaches—including immune checkpoint inhibitors and cellular immunotherapy—to improve outcomes for patients with brain tumors.
All duties and responsibilities are carried out in compliance with institutional policies, ethical research standards, and applicable federal and state regulations.
Learning objectives

Requirements
- PhD and/or MD
- Peer-reviewed publications or manuscripts under review in internationally recognized journals
- Strong background in biochemistry, molecular biology, and cell biology

Pay
Full-time postdoc positions offer a salary ranging from $64,000 to $76,000, depending on years of postgraduate experience.
Offsite work arrangements are subject to approval and may be modified or revoked at any time based on business needs, performance considerations, or regulatory requirements. This position may require routine reviews and screening to maintain the security and integrity of critical infrastructure as defined by Texas Business and Commerce Code.
