Postdoctoral Fellow, Laboratory of Dr. Christie Towers

The Towers lab at the Salk Institute seeks a postdoctoral scientist to contribute to research combining basic cell biology techniques and physiologically relevant cancer models. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in cancer biology and cell biology, with an interest in learning new techniques.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to cutting-edge research projects focusing on cancer cell adaptation under stress conditions.
• Utilize advanced techniques such as mouse models of cancer, optogenetics, cell metabolism studies, autophagy research, and mitochondrial biology.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to advance knowledge in cancer biology.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Biological Sciences, Molecular Biology, or related fields.
• Experience in cancer biology and/or cell biology techniques.
• Desire to learn and apply new techniques in cancer research.
• Additional skills in mouse models of cancer, optogenetics, cell metabolism, autophagy, and/or mitochondrial biology are preferred.

Benefits

• Competitive salary range from $70,500 to $78,000.

Pay

• Full postdoctoral salary range for wet lab opportunities is $70,500-$78,000.
• The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
