About the role

The position is designed to provide hands-on research experience under the guidance of a Principal Investigator, enhancing skills necessary for a successful career in academia or industry.

Responsibilities

  • Design and conduct research projects within a specified field.
  • Evaluate experimental results and develop new ideas to advance research goals.
  • Prepare and publish scientific manuscripts under the mentor’s supervision.
  • Operate specific laboratory equipment and assist in its maintenance.
  • Teach and train junior researchers, technicians, and students in laboratory techniques.

Requirements

  • A doctoral degree or equivalent in an appropriate field.
  • Excellent scientific writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with peers and maintain collegial relationships.
  • Additional qualifications as specified by the Principal Investigator.

Qualifications

  • Minimum qualifications include a doctoral degree or equivalent.
  • Must be able to perform tasks in-person at an Emory University location.
  • Appointments are temporary and renewable based on performance and funding availability.
  • Positions cannot exceed five years.
